  9.   WHAT IS IT?
  10.   The Internet is like an ocean. It is huge and loaded with
  11.   resources. Using the Internet is like cruising on the
  12.   ocean. You could find wonderful islands or you might get
  13.   stranded. Merit's "Cruise of the Internet" is a
  14.   computer-based tutorial for new and experienced Internet
  15.   "navigators." The Cruise will introduce you to the
  16.   Internet, its resources and the tools needed to access
  17.   those resources. In addition, you will learn about Internet
  18.   resources as diverse as supercomputing, minorities,
  19.   multimedia, and even cooking.

  22.   SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  23.   This tutorial will run on any color Macintosh(tm) which is
  24.   capable of displaying 256 colors. To run the Cruise
  25.   tutorial you will need:
  26.  
  27.       - A Macintosh II(tm), LC(tm) or Quadra(tm) series computer
  28.       - FDHD disk drive (if copied from disk)
  29.       - 8-bit color and any color monitor  (12" minimum)
  30.       - System 6.05 or 7.x
  31.       - Approximately 2 MB of disk space
  32.       - 4 MB RAM is recommended
  33.  
  34.   HOW TO INSTALL IT:
  35.   1. Copy the tutorial "Merit's Cruise 2.0" from the floppy
  36.      disk to your hard drive.
  37.   2. Pull down your Apple menu and select CONTROL PANELS.
  38.   3. Select MONITORS from your control Panel.
  39.   4. Set your Monitors control panel device to 256 colors. 
  40.      (Note: any other setting will degrade the performance 
  41.      and display of your tutorial.)
  42.   5. If you are running Multifinder or System 7, quit all
  43.      open applications.
  44.   6. Run the tutorial from the copy on your hard drive by
  45.      double-clicking on the projector icon labeled 
  46.      "Merit's Cruise 2.0."
  47.

  49.   This version (2.0) of Merit Network's "Cruise of the
  50.   Internet" is being distributed without charge for your
  51.   evaluation and use. Merit is interested in what you think
  52.   of this presentation and how you might want to use it.
