- A Cruise of the Internet

- WHAT IS IT?
- The Internet is like an ocean. It is huge and loaded with
- resources. Using the Internet is like cruising on the
- ocean. You could find wonderful islands or you might get
- stranded. Merit's "Cruise of the Internet" is a
- computer-based tutorial for new and experienced Internet
- "navigators." The Cruise will introduce you to the
- Internet, its resources and the tools needed to access
- those resources. In addition, you will learn about Internet
- resources as diverse as supercomputing, minorities,
- multimedia, and even cooking.

- SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- This tutorial will run on any color Macintosh(tm) which is
- capable of displaying 256 colors. To run the Cruise
- tutorial you will need:

- - A Macintosh II(tm), LC(tm) or Quadra(tm) series computer
- - FDHD disk drive (if copied from disk)
- - 8-bit color and any color monitor (12" minimum)
- - System 6.05 or 7.x
- - Approximately 2 MB of disk space
- - 4 MB RAM is recommended

- HOW TO INSTALL IT:
- 1. Copy the tutorial "Merit's Cruise 2.0" from the floppy
- disk to your hard drive.
- 2. Pull down your Apple menu and select CONTROL PANELS.
- 3. Select MONITORS from your control Panel.
- 4. Set your Monitors control panel device to 256 colors.
- (Note: any other setting will degrade the performance
- and display of your tutorial.)
- 5. If you are running Multifinder or System 7, quit all
- open applications.
- 6. Run the tutorial from the copy on your hard drive by
- double-clicking on the projector icon labeled
- "Merit's Cruise 2.0."

- This version (2.0) of Merit Network's "Cruise of the
- Internet" is being distributed without charge for your
- evaluation and use. Merit is interested in what you think
- of this presentation and how you might want to use it.
